An artwork made by a robot and featuring the Melkmeer girl disappeared from the Binnenwatersloot bridge in Delft less than 24 hours after it had been installed. Artist Tijn Noordenbos, 76, said he was distressed because he had invested considerable time and money in the work.

A student later came forward, apologized and said he had taken the artwork. Noordenbos is relieved and plans to collect it from the student’s dormitory after the weekend.
