Stricter rules for people who rent out a property to tourists, and for residents living next to such properties, are due to take effect on Sunday. The changes are intended to address nuisance in residential areas and involve an amendment to the Tourist Rental Act.

Platforms such as Airbnb and Booking.com are expected to share data with the government under the amended law.
