Insurers in the Netherlands had received more than 1,000 storm-damage claims by Monday morning after storms in recent days. Interpolis and Centraal Beheer, both part of Achmea, reported about 1,000 claims, while Nationale-Nederlanden had received just under 500.

The strong winds mainly damaged homes and also damaged cars, including through fallen trees. Blocked drains were also reported as a source of damage.
