Spaarne Gasthuis’ board has decided to build a new hospital on the parking lot next to the current hospital in Haarlem-Zuid. Interim director Ingrid Wolf said the new building is expected to be completed by 2033; until then, the current Haarlem-Zuid hospital will remain in use. Clinical and emergency care are planned to be concentrated in the new hospital. The Hoofddorp location is to become a day hospital for consultations, examinations and treatments that do not require an overnight stay. Its oncology day centre, which works with the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, will remain in Hoofddorp.
