A 23-year-old man, one of six suspects in a reported rape case in Sliedrecht, denied involvement in the sexual violence. He said he did not belong in prison and wanted to remain in society, and said he cried every night in his cell.

The public prosecutor later said that one of the suspects allegedly tried to force the 18-year-old victim to withdraw her statement through friends who approached her. The case is ongoing.
