Marianne Zwagerman wrote that Sjoukje van Oosterhout had taken over the political role of Joris Thijssen, whom she described as a former Greenpeace director who had represented the PvdA in the Lower House since 2021. She also alleged that opponents of Shell had gained influence in Parliament at taxpayers’ expense and referred to them as the “Green Mafia.”
