A man was seriously injured after shots were fired during an altercation in a house on Hoogstraat in Roosendaal on Wednesday night. He was hit in the eye and chest and lost an eye.

Police arrested a 44-year-old man from Roosendaal at his home on Thursday night on suspicion of attempted manslaughter. A special police unit made the arrest. Police believe a gas-powered weapon, such as an air gun or airsoft gun, may have been used; the weapon has not been found.
