Shell achieved record results from oil refining in the third quarter, as the gap between crude-oil prices and prices for refined products including diesel and petrol reached its widest level. The company benefited from shortages linked to the Iran war and Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries, which led Russia to ban exports of petrol and diesel. A single report also said that low water levels on the Rhine caused problems.
