A fire broke out in a shed on Willem Barentzstraat in Breda on Saturday afternoon and spread to a neighbouring shed, damaging both buildings. Firefighters prevented it from spreading further, while the street was closed during the extinguishing operation.

Two residents initially tried to extinguish the fire with a garden hose but withdrew on firefighters' instructions because of the heavy smoke. Neighbours reported hearing a loud bang shortly before the fire; the cause remains under investigation.
