Sharon Almer, 31, terminated her pregnancy two months ago after a 13-week ultrasound showed that the fetus had underdeveloped arms and an open abdomen. The scan is intended to detect serious fetal abnormalities at an early stage.

The cabinet plans to discontinue the 13-week scan from 2028. Sharon said the examination had been an important moment for her and called its planned abolition incomprehensible and frightening.
