The SGP was left out of the new coalition in Papendrecht after other parties concluded that differences over Sunday rest and Sunday trading were irreconcilable. The party had advised on Monday evening that it should not join the municipal executive for that reason. An SGP representative called the decision painful and regrettable, saying the other parties had chosen to exclude the SGP and would have to account for that choice.
