Police seized dozens of servers from a data centre in Limburg during an international investigation into a hosting company suspected of facilitating cybercrime. The company was alleged to have enabled the distribution of child sexual abuse material, as well as phishing and ransomware activity.
Police said the company operated as a bulletproof hosting provider and advertised anonymity for users. They hold data on more than 3,000 customers suspected of using the servers for criminal activity. The FBI and German police were involved in the investigation, which led to suspects being identified and cryptocurrency being seized.
