Police seized more than 3,000 kilograms of illegal fireworks from a business premises on Werfweg in Lelystad on Wednesday, following an anonymous tip about the possession and trade of illegal fireworks. The haul included cobras, shells and nitrates.

A 33-year-old man from Lelystad was arrested and remains in custody for investigation and questioning. Police also found and seized several kilograms of fireworks at his home. Police said the seizure removed the immediate explosion risk at both locations.
