At a second court hearing, the prosecution said Fouzia R., 59, acted alone in the killing of her 14-year-old daughter Nour. Nour was stabbed to death on 20 April at a home on Elzenstraat in Blerick, a district of Venlo. Her father is no longer a suspect, according to the prosecution.

Fouzia R. has confessed to killing her daughter, but the motive remains unclear. It also remains unresolved who tied Nour up. Fouzia R. is to undergo further examination.
