Discussion of Dutch television and podcast developments

1 source

Across a series of media podcasts, Tina Nijkamp, Mark Koster, Wilson Boldewijn and Pepijn van den Brink discussed developments in Dutch television. They examined disappointing viewing figures for programmes including Best Singers, Show News, Expedition Robinson, Renze and André Hazes’s reality show, while also highlighting new or successful formats and changes involving presenters and broadcasters. The discussions also covered the Eurovision Song Contest, international television formats presented at MIPCOM in Cannes, and the possible continuation or reduction of several programmes. The podcasts also criticised the budgets and audience reach of NPO podcasts, questioned the authenticity of reality television such as Love Is Blind, and discussed presenters and programmes including RTL Boulevard, Farm of Dorst, Promenade and Hitser. The documentary about René Froger was described as heavily directed and closer to hero worship than an independent documentary. The discussions remain commentary by the participating media figures on current television and broadcasting developments; no broader outcome was reported.
