Rotterdam plans to comprehensively renew Spaanse Polder, with the aim of making it a future-ready business area by 2035. The area is intended to accommodate heavy industry, manufacturing companies and businesses that reuse raw materials, while its public space is also to be refurbished.

The total cost and the source of the funding have not yet been determined.
