An extreme-right demonstration on the Malieveld in the Netherlands again ended in riots, according to Ahmed Marcouch. He wrote that politics and the media were responding too laconically to what he described as attacks from within on the democratic rule of law. Marcouch presented the situation as a choice between civilization and barbarism, rather than between left and right.
