It was reported that 10-year-old Riley from Vierlingsbeek collected 293 stuffed animals for children at Pantein Maas Hospital in Boxmeer. She started the campaign because her friend Jim, who has a bowel disease, is often treated there, and she wanted to support Jim and the other children in the hospital.

Riley placed decorated boxes at two PLUS supermarkets and collected the stuffed animals over a month. She has since delivered six bags of them to the hospital’s pediatric ward, with help from Jim and Jim’s mother. The hospital said it welcomed the initiative, particularly because it came from a patient’s friends.
