After three years of testing, a durable wine bottle was developed that manufacturers can refill, as is already done with beer bottles. The developers said that reusing the bottles 20 times would reduce CO2 emissions by 80 percent compared with producing new bottles, and that 80 percent of wine bottles could be reusable within ten years.
