The Reuma Light Walk is scheduled to take place on Saturday 10 October in Amsterdam’s Vondelpark to raise money for research into rheumatism. The event features Amsterdam residents living with rheumatic conditions, including Maja van Vlerken, who has had rheumatoid arthritis for 27 years. She said everyday tasks such as showering, drying herself and getting dressed can be difficult, but that she focuses on what she can do. Many Amsterdam residents with rheumatism receive care at Reade, including from Marjolein Sanberg and her team. Sanberg said patients should feel heard and expressed respect for people such as Van Vlerken, who maintain a positive approach despite their condition.
