Residents of Rotterdam’s De Esch district reported years of nuisance including street racing, loud music, nitrous oxide use and drug use, as well as groups of young people gathering in the neighbourhood. They said drivers raced recklessly through a bend. A nighttime access ban has made the area much quieter, but residents want further measures. An expert warned against their proposal to take the restrictions further.
