A road sign on the Schellingwouderdijk in Amsterdam-Noord that incorrectly read “Raasdorp” was due to be replaced on 16 November. District manager Talitha Koek said the replacement sign would read “Ransdorp” and acknowledged the frustration over the mistake.

Koek said the error had occurred on the first design drawing and was covered by the work’s warranty, so it would not incur additional costs. She attributed it to human error in the national signage service and the organisations responsible for the roads.
