A large hornet nest was removed from a tree on Grevenbroeckstraat in Helvoirt on Tuesday afternoon. The nest, found near a monument, was about one metre in diameter and was 20 metres above the ground.

Local residents discovered the nest and alerted the municipality, which hired a specialist company. The company used a powerful vacuum with an extendable 30-metre pipe to remove it. Another nest has already been removed near Eikendonk in Helvoirt.
