Religious psychologist Hanneke Schaap-Jonker said many people feel pursued and exhausted. She argued that society’s focus on self-confidence can lead to people exploiting themselves, and that simply adding relaxation to their list of tasks does not solve the problem.
She called for a new perspective on life in which people rely less on themselves and more on others and on God.
