Four hospitals in the eastern Netherlands are testing a new way of working together. Since September 2025, patients awaiting surgery for gallbladder problems, groin hernias or umbilical hernias have been able to go to another hospital in the region if an earlier appointment was available. More than 600 patients have undergone such surgery through the arrangement.
