The University of Amsterdam has reduced the number of essay assignments because of concerns that students could use AI fraudulently. Teachers regret the reduction and are seeking other ways to assess essay-writing skills. Student union ASVA said it understands that AI use is difficult to monitor, but maintains that students are entitled to the original number of essay assignments.
