Dozens of residents on Amsterdam’s Amstelkade and nearby streets hung rainbow flags from their homes in support of Gerben Sterringa’s family, after a brick was thrown through his daughter’s bedroom window on 21 October because of a rainbow flag. His daughter was not in bed at the time and is now sleeping in her own room again after several nights with her parents.
