Rail services between Haarlem and Beverwijk suspended for track work

Train services between Haarlem and Beverwijk were due to be suspended from 2 to 7 November for work on the railway. ProRail and contractor Swietelsky were to renew sections of track in the Velser rail tunnel after parts were found to need replacement. The work had originally been planned for January but was postponed because of snow-related safety concerns.

Work was also scheduled at Beverwijk station on a new substation and underground electricity cables. Stop buses were to serve Haarlem, Bloemendaal, Santpoort-Zuid, Santpoort-Noord, Driehuis and Beverwijk, with express buses running between Haarlem and Beverwijk from 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Travellers between Haarlem and Uitgeest were advised to travel via Sloterdijk and check the travel planner for current information.
