Train services between Rotterdam Central and Gouda are expected to be suspended from Saturday 17 October for more than a week, causing considerable disruption for passengers travelling between Rotterdam and Utrecht. ProRail is to renew track at several locations. At the same time, a station described as one of the ugliest in the Netherlands is being prepared for a major renovation; its name was not specified.
