Radboudumc is investigating a new approach for women with a hereditary increased risk of ovarian cancer. They have so far been advised to have their ovaries and fallopian tubes removed preventively at a young age, which causes an acute menopause and associated complaints. The approach could mean they no longer have to enter menopause at around age 35, but the investigation is still ongoing.
