Amsterdam metro outage prompts questions from PRO and Denk

PRO and Denk council members Mohamed Belkasmi and Süleyman Koyuncu asked alderman Elise Moekops, responsible for mobility, to seek clarification from CFP about the major metro outage in Amsterdam on Friday, October 2. The metro service was disrupted for several hours, and CFP attributed the incident to a system error. The council members said the disruption raised serious questions because many Amsterdam residents depend on public transport for work, education and other destinations. They asked what caused the error, whether the failure could have been prevented and what measures might have done so. They also want to know whether it was an isolated incident or pointed to a structural problem or vulnerability in Amsterdam’s metro network.
