Preferred route set for 45-kilometre high-voltage line in North Holland

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate reportedly selected a preferred route for a new 45-kilometre high-voltage line through North Holland. The route runs from Assendelft via Stompetoren, Oterleek and Hensbroek to Middenmeer. The ministry chose the so-called green route after consultations, although two variants in the northern section are still being investigated: one that stays entirely on the green route and one that uses a short section of the purple route. Two new substations are also reportedly planned, with Agriport in Middenmeer and the Assendelverpolder near Assendelft named as possible locations. The line is intended to address a full electricity grid.
