A connection stop was imposed on new or heavier electricity connections in 16 municipalities in the Achterhoek, Liemers and Stedendriehoek areas of Gelderland after the grid reached capacity. The measure applies to companies, new homes and households seeking a heavier connection, and takes effect retroactively for applications submitted after 1 July.

The existing connection stop in Utrecht remains in force, despite additional capacity having become available on the grid.
