PostNL requested €80 million in public compensation for the coming year, citing rising costs for its statutory mail-delivery service. The company said costs resulting from a legal obligation should not be borne by the business and warned that the uncertainty puts pressure on the company and its employees.

PostNL had also sought subsidies before 2025 and 2026; those applications remain subject to legal proceedings.
