A new rule in the Leiden, Bollenstreek and Alphen aan den Rijn regions could have caused people to lose their position on the waiting list for a social rental home if they failed to pay the annual registration fee on time. After strong criticism from several municipalities in the region, the rule may be changed or withdrawn.
