Data sharing on Dutch porn sites before visitors click

Visitors to porn sites in the Netherlands were reportedly tracked without permission, including when they used incognito mode. Research found that more than three-quarters of the most popular porn sites among Dutch users shared data with other companies before visitors clicked anything, including their IP addresses and the title of the video they were viewing.

The practice was discussed in relation to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the European privacy law in force across the European Union since 2018. Reporter Anna Straus and technology reporter Rosarne de Jong explained the issue.
