Police said a man whose recognisable image was shared on social media and shown in the investigation programme Bureau Hengeveld in connection with an extortion case in Woerden had no involvement in the crime. One report said the case concerned an 89-year-old woman.

Police asked members of the public and media organisations to remove the footage. A police spokesperson said reservations had been expressed after the images were broadcast, noting that investigators can never be completely certain.
