A special Pokémon card fair was due to take place in Haarlem on Saturday. Tickets were reported to be popular, while a store selling them was broken into twice during the week and collectors were reportedly robbed of valuable cards on other occasions.

Visitors to the fair also noticed signs that criminals were targeting Pokémon cards. Some collectors said they kept their most expensive cards in a safe.
