Planned expansion of Philips Stadium

Eindhoven’s executive approved plans to renovate and expand the Philips Stadium by about 20,000 seats. The city council is due to make the final decision on 15 December, including a proposed 50-year extension of PSV’s ground lease from 2027, with annual rent rising from about €2.4 million to €2.65 million. The municipality would pay for changes to public space around the stadium, while PSV would fund the stadium work itself.
PSV is still seeking partners to finance the estimated €400 million project. If approved and financed in time, work on the roof is intended to start during the summer break; the stadium is expected to be without a roof for two years during the renovation. A delay could postpone the project by a year.
