Pieter Casse receives Lelystad City Compliment

Pieter Casse received Lelystad’s City Compliment during a celebration marking the tenth anniversary of the Lelystad neighbourhood bus association. Mayor Mieke Baltus presented the award in recognition of his role as one of the initiators of the city’s first neighbourhood bus and his contribution to connecting neighbourhoods. Casse led the association for ten years before transferring the presidency to Monique Baartman-Banis after three statutory terms.

The municipality said the initiative had grown into an important service, with about 50 volunteers transporting more than 20,000 passengers each year in areas without regular city transport. The City Compliment has been awarded by Lelystad since 2018.
