Philips said it had reached an agreement in principle with the US Department of Justice over investigations into its subsidiary Respironics and the large-scale recall of sleep apnea devices. The agreement is intended to resolve criminal and civil investigations.
Philips reserved €288 million for the expected settlement, which affected its third-quarter result. The agreement still stands as an agreement in principle.
