The Magisch Samhain festival in Fortress Bourtange was allowed to go ahead after the municipality of Westerwolde approved the permit. The approval ended uncertainty in the days before the event for its organisers, employees and volunteers.

The permit allows 4,000 visitors to be in the fortress at the same time, enabling the festival to admit its intended number of visitors.
