Peak of the Orionid meteor shower

The Orionid meteor shower reaches its peak on Thursday morning. Earlier in the week, observers may already have seen meteors from the swarm, which Earth is passing through.

About 11 meteors per hour are expected on average, although more may be visible at the peak. Cloud and rain showers are likely to make viewing difficult.
