Patrick van Daalen has dedicated his life to helping children cope with setbacks. Together with his wife, Mariëlle, he built the Unity ’99 martial arts school in Rotterdam into a place where children learn more than fighting. Mariëlle is seriously ill, and the couple is drawing strength from the lessons they have taught others.
