The Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) reportedly found cows with inflamed hooves standing in manure at a farm in Markelo run by a father and son. The farm had been under enhanced surveillance for a long time because of troubling conditions. The account also referred to personal and financial concerns affecting the farmers.
