Launch of Homek as a competitor to Funda

A group of estate agents dissatisfied with Funda set up Homek, a competing Dutch home-search platform. People involved in Funda’s original creation are also involved in the new initiative, which is intended to give participating agents ownership and avoid outside shareholders focused on maximum profit.

Homek is due to start in March, provided that at least 1,000 brokers and estate agents join by purchasing a certificate that makes them co-owners. The platform promises lower fees for agents listing homes.
