North Brabant province took over authority from the municipalities for a planned 150 kV high-voltage connection in West Brabant, aiming to use a single project procedure to speed its development. The underground link is to run through Woensdrecht, Bergen op Zoom and Steenbergen and connect to a high-voltage station yet to be built in Halsteren.

The precise route has not yet been determined; studies and route proposals are planned, while residents remain able to participate, respond and submit views. The connection is intended to ease pressure on the electricity grid, and TenneT plans to put it into operation between 2034 and 2036.
