Noordoostpolder places 41 development sites on electricity priority list

The municipality of Noordoostpolder has placed 41 sites on a priority list for access to electricity capacity, including locations where housing, schools or other facilities may be developed. The list includes the former Phoenix residential care complex in Emmeloord, a planned migrant-worker accommodation site in Ens, village-school projects in Bant, Ens and Marknesse, and several former shops, churches and other buildings intended for housing. The eastern part of Lange Nering and the Zuiderkade in Emmeloord are also included. The ice rink in Emmeloord appears near the bottom of the list with an initiative for 225 homes.

The projects are ranked mainly according to their planned completion dates, while projects considered socially important or beneficial to the electricity grid receive priority under rules introduced on 1 July. The plans remain estimates and are not all concrete. Noordoostpolder says the numbers and the positions on the list may change if projects are finalized or their schedules change.
