The limit for the National Mortgage Guarantee (NHG) is set to increase from €470,000 to €500,000 next year. Advisers said the rise does not necessarily mean that more people will qualify for the associated interest-rate advantage, noting that the NHG limit has increased much faster in recent years than average mortgage amounts and borrowers’ available loan capacity.
