Riverbeds have been cleaned, drainage systems restored and houses demolished in Nairobi as the Kenyan capital prepares for possible major flooding linked to El Niño. There are concerns that the city may not be able to cope. In the Mathare district, residents are preparing for flooding and say they know they should not wait.
